What is Duka?
Duka brings Kenya's independent stores together. Every seller has their own store with its own look and web address, and every store also appears here, so you can fill one bag from many stores and pay once.
Paying with M-Pesa
At checkout, tap Pay and you'll get an M-Pesa prompt on your phone. Enter your PIN and you're done; your SMS receipt arrives within a minute. Prefer the M-Pesa menu? Choose Lipa na M-Pesa, Buy Goods, enter the Till number shown and the exact amount, then type the confirmation code at checkout.
When is an item mine?
Many items are one of a kind, so they aren't held in your bag. The moment your payment is confirmed, they're reserved for you and nobody else can buy them.
Delivery
Each store ships its own parcel. Choose home delivery by rider in Nairobi, a pickup point, or a courier to your town. The fee and expected day for each store show at checkout before you pay, and some stores offer free delivery.
Tracking
Your SMS receipt links to tracking for every parcel. You'll see when it's packed, on the way and delivered, with your rider's name and number, or the courier's waybill, once it's moving.
Returns
If an item isn't as described, contact the store within 7 days of delivery to arrange a return and refund to M-Pesa.
